Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our Operations team. This is a contract opportunity reporting to the Delivery Manager, responsible for managing front end projects with a key client. Based in Perth CBD, this is a 12-month contract role and is available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.

Responsibilities

Working in a key EPCM contract, you will be the "in contract" proposals Focal Point while working to create delivery excellence across the assigned project portfolio, provide certainty and confidence to the client / project sponsor, and maintain robust control of project scope, schedule, cost and risk.

You will balance technical, team, client, and project leadership across onshore gas plants (including LNG) and offshore gas and condensate production facilities and thrive on the challenge of:

  • Specifying and coordinating the implementation and completion of moderate sized projects, a portfolio of small projects and / or major components of large projects
  • Safe delivery, ensuring quality, schedule and cost targets are met and managing associated risk mitigation
  • Delivery of project to agreed specifications, managing change and customer relationships and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is adhered to and controlled

In this highly visible client facing role, your dual focus on relationships and delivery will be essential. Anticipating client needs beyond the immediate scope, you will drive technical excellence, while enabling the ongoing growth and development of your team. You will also work in close partnership with other disciplines and the client to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and asset portfolio.

Qualifications

Expected:

You will be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia.

Ideally you will be suitably qualified in Engineering from a recognised institution and have a 15+ years of proven experience in the oil and gas brownfields EPC(M) sector in Australia, including 7+ years of relevant experience in a similar Project Management role.

It is advantageous if you are a Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM) or hold an equivalent certification.

In addition, you will have:

  • Significant experience in project delivery management
  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing roles
  • Engineering project management experience with knowledge of Australian and International codes and standards
  • Proven experience managing risk during design phase and aligned with technical and commercial requirements
  • Well developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs
  • A focus on delivering solutions and adept at managing a dynamic environment with varying tasks and changing / competing priorities
  • Well versed in international and company quality assurance standards
  • Knowledge of commercial and contract conditions applicable to the procurement of various
  • types of goods and services.
  • In-depth knowledge of scheduling techniques, their properties and uses.
  • Good knowledge and experience in project monitoring and forecasting.
  • Ability to manage change control process on project with several sub-contractors and
  • interfaces.
  • Understanding projection/forecast of cost at completion
